Why are people moving out of Toronto to small cities like Cambridge, Ontario?

Lots of small families and new immigrants are moving to Cities like Cambridge from big cities like Toronto.
A few reasons why people are moving to Cambridge
Close to nature, lots of Green and rivers and walking trails.
Cambridge is filled with natural beauty. There are rivers everywhere. One of the popular rivers, The Speed River joins the Grande River in Cambridge and the Grande goes right through the whole city. Because of this, there are plenty of trails and parks around which is awesome as I love the outdoors and being active. It's also just a great thing to go for a walk on a nice day as it is quite scenic. A good area is in downtown Galt known as Frank's (between the Cambridge - Paris trail and the Blair Road trail) where the bridges that Cambridge is well known for are.
Cambridge is full of character, charm, liveliness and history.
Cambridge consists of 3 smaller towns known as Galt, Preston and Hespeler, and these cities date back all the way to the late 1700's /early 1800's! The townships came together in 1973 so it has 3 separate little downtowns full of history and lined with quaint little shops and cafes. Many of the houses are also over one hundred years old and full of character.
Cambridge is well connected to Highways
Cambridge is one of the cities that the 401 expressway runs through with 4 locations to merge on and 3 to merge off. Depending where in the city you live, the highway is likely nearby; anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes away. The farthest area from the highway would be South Galt which I believe would be 15-20 minutes from the highway. It's great for people who commute to Toronto that don't want to live in a big city, which leads me to my next point.
Cambridge is affordable and transit is not as crazy as big cities.
One of the reasons why lots of people move to Cambridge is the affordability. It is large enough a city to have all of the amenities you need in multiple locations for ease of accessibility, but not too large that it's annoying to drive and get around. Because it is smaller relative to other nearby cities, houses are priced relatively well even compared to our larger neighbor, Kitchener.
Affordable homes compared to greater Toronto Area
Compared to the greater Toronto area, Cambridge is much more affordable if you compare apple to apple. If you are a first time home buyer looking to buy your first home, you may be priced out in Toronto because of the home prices. Cambridge is much more affordable if you are looking to purchase a home. There are plenty of detached, semi-detached, townhomes and condos available for sale in Cambridge.
So if you are thinking of moving to Cambridge and want a calmer life, Cambridge Ontario is definitely a good place to consider moving to.
